The Launch Pad

launch_pad_brantfordWe welcome YOU to the Launch Pad!

Imagine a place where you are always welcome, where children have the opportunity to explore, play, socialize and be kids in a safe environment and where their parents and caregivers are supported. Imagine that it is free to attend and that you can even take a free taxi ride to get there! This place exists and it is called the Launch Pad.  Kids Can Fly has hosted this parent and child program since 2008.

At the Launch Pad we believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. We know that children learn best through play and we follow the research of the late Dr Fraser Mustard, that the first six years of life set the stage for lifelong learning, health, behaviour and well-being.

the first six years of life set the stage

The Launch Pad is really special because it is 100% sponsored by Bill and Dorothy Campbell, a local couple who believe that investing in the early years is very important for the future of our children and community.

The Launch Pad is located within Graham Bell –Victoria School at 56 Grand Street in the Terrace Hill area of Brantford.  The Grand Erie District School Board provides the space free of charge and Kids Can Fly administrates the program.  It is staffed by Jane Flinders, RECE, who has over 30 years of experience working with children and parents and who has special skills in music and infant programming. Our supply teachers are Nancy Corke and Lisa Collins.  If you need transportation, and live within the city limits, you can contact Brant Taxi and ask to go to the Launch Pad.  Service is FREE.  Remember to ask for car seats and give 45 minutes notice.
