Our Roots of Empathy instructors are primarily community volunteers who take the four day training and commit to delivering the program within an elementary school class between October and June each year. This is a large commitment and one that should be researched.
Contact our executive director if you have the time, interest and comfort level to speak before a class of children. We also need families to volunteer with their infants in this program. We match families with each school in the fall and need them to be available once a month for the full school year. The babies should be born between June and August.
The Storybook Breakfast looks for volunteers for the first weekend in February. We need people to dress in costumes, help decorate, serve food and participate in this magical event. Students who need community hours or who enjoy working with children should contact Sharon Brooks.
Occasionally we need volunteers for our Launch Pad drop in program or other fundraisers. Let us know what you like to do and we will find a spot for your talents.
NOTE that the Kids Can Fly board are all volunteers!
