We were honoured to be chosen as the charity to benefit from a quarter auction held on Tuesday January 14 at the Dunsdon Legion in Brantford.
We are thrilled that over $1600 was raised and these funds will go directly towards Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program!
There was a really great turn out for this event, and we would like to everyone who attended. We would especially like to thank all of the organizers, vendors and volunteers who make this event possible!
Every month there is a quarter auction taking place which benefits an organization in the community, and they are a lot of fun!
The next one will be taking place on February 18 with the money going towards ‘Friends for Kindness’

Kids Can Fly was honoured to be the chosen charity to partner with singer/songwriter Michelle Wright as she kicked off her Christmas concert tour ‘A Wright Christmas’ in Brantford at the Sanderson Centre on Tuesday December 3.
Our busy team of volunteers arrived during the day to decorate the stage with beautiful decorations graciously donated by Classic Displays.
During the concert, we placed a table in the lobby and had the opportunity to explain to patrons what Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was all about. We also received generous donations in exchange for snowflakes which decorated our tree.
It was a fabulous night and our youngest volunteers even got to go up on stage and sing beside Michelle Wright, which was quite an honour!
Thank you to everyone who made this event so wonderful, and a special thank you to Michelle Wright and her entire crew for this opportunity. Best of luck as you continue your tour and Merry Christmas!
May 23, 2019 | Community Events, Kids Can Fly News, Reading & Family Storytime
We were honoured to have Dollywood’s Little Engine Playhouse come to Brantford and Brant County all the way from Tennessee this week! They performed a short children’s theatrical production based on one of the books in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library called “Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon”.
Children from the community came as well as kindergarten classes from local schools. The children were captivated and engaged and loved every minute of it!
We welcomed special guests as well including Mayor David Bailey, Mayor Kevin Davis, Ward 2 Councillor Steve Howes from Brant County and both CEO’s from the County and City libraries
This book is about anti bullying, and being proud of who you are and what makes you an individual. After the performance, the children had the opportunity to make crafts highlighting what makes THEM special
We would like to thank everyone who attended and helped with this event. Thank you to the County of Brant Public Library and the Brantford Public Library for hosting the performances.
We are so lucky that Dollywood’s Little Engine Playhouse chose to come and perform in our community! Thank you to Sarah, Josh an John for all of your hard work, passion and energy that you put into every performance!
Always remember…..”smile big and the world will smile right alongside you”
