“Kids Can Fly is delighted to be partnering in the Generations of Writers Project.  This unique initiative , funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, will partner 12 high school students with 12 seniors from the community to gather oral history.  The youth will receive extensive training from project creator and facilitator, author Lauren Kirshner.  They will then interview the seniors and bring their story to life in the written word. These narratives will be shared through public exhibition, in an online museum thus creating a living archive.  The Generations of Writers preserves the past while looking into the future and will break down barriers between generations, one story at a time.”

Applications must be received by Friday September 21 and the program runs on Saturdays from October 6 til November 17th.  There is NO cost to participate but the youth will compete for the spots.  The Generations of Writers project is a partnership with the County of Brant Public Library, The Brantford Expositor, Kids Can Fly and Telfer Place Retirement Residence.  They recognize the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
