In these uncertain times we may be overlooking that children are feeling anxious due to the change or routines, social isolation and the impact this is having on the adults in their lives. Many fun activities both virtual and neighbourhood based are being developed and Kids Can Fly is launching a new one from Monday, March 30 until Sunday, April 5.

For our GREAT TEDDY BEAR HUNT we are asking everyone to put a Teddy Bear Stuffie or picture in your front window so that when children are out walking they can find and count them.

In addition, as a way to help keep the families in our community connected and offer support during this time, Kids Can Fly is offering Live opportunities on our facebook page for children.  Alicia and Ellie are reading books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination library every day, Monday to Friday at 3 pm,  Jane and Lucy are doing live a music time Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

This coming week, they will both focus on Bear Books, crafts and songs for this week and we urge you to join in!

Additional ideas will be posted at www.kidscanfly.ca starting March 30. If you send us a photo of your crafts or bear sightings we will post on our FB page.

“Studies have shown that the teddy bear is designed to have the human facial features the brain yearns to cuddle. Beyond cuddling, these fuzzy creatures are uniquely capable of dampening psychological trauma.”
