Launch pad dedication 2015
Graham Bell-Victoria school has benefited from the Launch Pad/Parent and Child Drop in program since 2007. The centre has been a source of parent support, early learning and joy for children and families. It is operated by Kids Can Fly and 100% financed by Bill and Dorothy Campbell. To recognize this, school principal John Poulimenos arranged to have a plaque hung in the school for current and future student’s awareness of the Campbell’s generosity. On May 7th, Dorothy Campbell attended the dedication of the plaque which features a favourite photo of the late Bill Campbell with Clifford the Dog. Pictured here are Jane Flinders – the early childhood educator who runs the program, Dorothy Campbell and a child from the program. “We have been so blessed to have had the financial and philosophical support of the Campbells regarding the importance of investing in the early years” said Sharon Brooks, Executive Director of Kids Can Fly. “This program has impacted hundreds of families and owes much of its success to the extraordinary skills of our early childhood educator, Jane Flinders. The Launch Pad is a welcoming place where parents learn from and support each other. It operates when the school is open – Tues – Fri mornings and also offers a free taxi which has been financed by the Campbells as well.
