Kids Can Fly lost a dear friend this week with the sudden passing of Nancy Corke.
‘Nanc’ had been a part of the Kids Can Fly family for years; volunteering as a Roots of Empathy instructor, a support staff in the Parachute Program and Launch Pad and a participant in many of our events. She took such delight in working with young children and moms were drawn to her warm personality and the sincere caring she always generated. It was a personal joy for Nanc to have delivered the Roots of Empathy program a few years ago with her own daughter Kaitlyn and first grandchild, Rowan.
On a personal level Nanc was a lifelong dear friend to both Jane Flinders and myself. We will miss her dearly and think of her often – especially on snowy winter days; which she loved. Our deepest condolences to her family and sincere appreciation for having donations in her memory made to Kids Can Fly.
Kids Can Fly will place a child on the Imagination Library Program for each of the winter months in her honour.
