Kids Can Fly, working with the County of Brant Public Library is seeking a highly motivated individual to create a Sensory Storytime Program in our community. Funding for this program is provided through the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This part time contract position is for 10 hours a week, starting March 2022 and running until the end of January 2023. Specific hours are Saturdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with four hours/week of preparation time which is flexible and may be worked from home.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the sensory needs/sensitivities of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, knowledge and understanding of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) principles, and an understanding of child development. Candidate should have a proven ability to prepare and present programs. In addition, strong communication and organizational skills, time management and the ability to work independently are a must.

Duties will include implementing and evaluating a Sensory Storytime Program. Developing program curriculum, purchasing specialized equipment as per budget requirements, communicating with parents/caregivers, assisting with promotion and registration and working closely with program partners.
