What is Storybook Breakfast?
Storybook Breakfast is a magical annual event where children and their families can meet beloved storybook characters in person. Each child receives an autograph book to have signed by the characters, and they can also take photos, give hugs, or share high fives with their favorites.
The event is centered around a delicious pancake breakfast, and at the end of the day, each child will be gifted a storybook from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
This special event also doubles as a fundraiser for Kids Can Fly, supporting their early childhood development and parenting programs. In 2024, we raised over $28,000 for this important cause.
Where do I get tickets?

What to expect at Storybook Breakfast
Storybook Breakfast is a delightful event designed for children ages 2 to 8 and their families.
This popular event usually sells out, so all guests are required to have tickets. The first step to attending is purchasing tickets, which can be printed or shown on a device at the door.
Upon arrival, our registration team will greet guests and provide information about dietary restrictions. Please note that due to space limitations, strollers and wagons are not permitted inside the venue.
Once checked in, guests will be guided to their seats by characters dressed in costume. Each table will be beautifully decorated with a storybook theme. While seating requests can be made in advance, they cannot be accommodated on the day of the event, as all seating arrangements are pre-planned.
After being seated, guests can relax, color on their placemats, or head to the buffet line to enjoy their pancakes. Volunteers will assist with food service, and some will also help carry plates and beverages back to the tables.
This is a relaxed, free-flowing event, with minimal announcements. Music will play in the background, and storybook characters will be mingling with guests, signing autograph books (which children will receive at check-in).
A photo station will be available where children can take a photo with characters. These characters will rotate for breaks, and each child will receive one printed photo.
This year, the breakfast will last for 1.5 hours giving everyone more time to enjoy the characters and food.
As the event wraps up, characters will say their goodbyes and exit the room. At this point, the event will officially conclude.
Before leaving, each child will receive a bag containing a storybook and sometimes additional swag items from our event sponsors.

I want to bring my baby. Do I need to pay for them?
If your baby or other child under two years old will be sitting on your lap the whole time, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. However, all children ages two and over, as well as all infants or babies who will need their own chair must have a children’s ticket.
Can I or my teen volunteer at Storybook Breakfast?
Absolutely! Storybook Breakfast wouldn’t be possible without the support of close to 150 volunteer roles. Volunteer roles include helping with registration, serving food, decorating, and dressing up as characters! The character role is especially suited to teens looking for volunteer opportunities.
